Marine Ceramic Coatings

What is a Marine Ceramic Coating?

Marine ceramic coatings provide a superior protective layer for your boat's exterior, surpassing standard waxes and sealants in durability and hydrophobic properties. Ceramic coatings are becoming increasingly popular in the marine industry due to their exceptional ability to mitigate oxidation. While they require maintenance and are not impervious to damage, they offer a robust, long-lasting barrier that enhances your boat's appearance and longevity.

Benefits of Marine Ceramic Coatings:

Enhanced Protection: Ceramic coatings offer superior protection against UV damage and other harsh elements, significantly reducing the risk of oxidation and fading.

Ease of Maintenance: The hydrophobic properties of ceramic coatings make cleaning your boat much easier. Dirt, grime, and stains are less likely to stick to the surface, allowing for quicker and more efficient cleaning.

Improved Aesthetics: A ceramic coated boat boasts an impressive, high-gloss finish that enhances its color depth and clarity, making your vessel stand out with a mirror-like shine.

Increased Durability: Unlike traditional waxes and sealants that require frequent reapplication, marine ceramic coatings offer a significantly longer-lasting solution. With proper maintenance they can potentially last for years, ensuring your boat stays in top condition long-term.

Long-Term Cost Savings: While there is an upfront cost for applying a ceramic coating, it can lead to significant long-term savings. By protecting the surface from various forms of damage and reducing the frequency of detailing, it minimizes ongoing maintenance expenses.

Our Ceramic Coating Process

To qualify for a ceramic coating, our Oxidation Removal service is a prerequisite (unless the boat is new). The surface must be perfectly clean and polished, as any imperfections will be sealed beneath the coating. The surface also needs to be completely free of oxidation in order for the coating to form a strong bond with the gel coat. Our polishing process will remove any swirls & scratches, water spots and other imperfections, so that the coating can adhere properly and last for years to come.
